The Bonneville Salt Flats
This project investigates the unique beauty of The Bonneville Salt Flats located in western Utah, USA. This incredible natural resource is an interest to land speed racers all around the world. It supports the local economy by being a source of tourism and mining. However, the acts of potash mining, racing, and recreational tourism have damaged the crust and decreased the size of the feature irreparably. Left unchecked, these detrimental activities will harm this fragile ecosystem to the point of no return – within twenty years it is possible that it will no longer sustain any activity, let alone the amount it currently supports.
